This post is to document the method I used to correct the problem with the clear headlight covers for my Ferrari 812 Competizione that were deformed. The pictures shown are the before and after of the pieces. As shown in the before pictures, there is a very noticeable gap between the cover and the body. Rather than using my heat gun, which would risk causing the rest of the covers to lose their shape, I used a small dish with warm water. It was just warm, not hot, so that it would allow me to gradually work the problem areas back into shape. Since the problem was the ends of the covers, just that part of the cover was dipped into the water and held in the water for a short period of time. I would then remove it from the water and gently massage that section in order to get it back into the proper shape. It was a little tedious, but to me, was the safest method to protect the rest of the part. After each dip and massage, I would then test fit the piece to check my progress. Eventually I was able to get both covers back into near perfect shape, and was able to install them on the body. The key is not to get the water too hot, and to take your time. This was the first time I had ever tried this process, and I was very pleased with the result.
