Background Information
As with the previous generation, the new RS6 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo TFSI petrol engine, now boosted by a 48V belt alternator/starter mild-hybrid system, which can recover up to 16 bhp (12 kW). The acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.6 seconds and 200 km/h in 12 seconds. As standard, top speed is limited to 250 km/h, with a further two levels courtesy of optional packs — the Dynamic package allows 280 km/h, while the Dynamic package plus grants even more headroom for a maximum of 305 km/h.
The Quattro system has power distribution with 40% for front and 60% for rear. The system can adjust the power distribution up to 70% for front and to 85% for the rear if needed. The adaptive suspension system is 20 mm lower than standard A6 and can lower the vehicle further 10 mm during high-speed driving or can raise the ride 20 mm at low speed. The Drive Select function gains configurable RS1 and RS2 modes, which are activated by an 'RS mode' button positioned on the steering wheel.
As well as adjusting the engine and handling responses, they also enable bespoke information on the Virtual Cockpit system.

Unboxing
The Porsche is done, so it is time to present and unbox the next project. Ladies and gentlemen here is the AUDI RS6 Avant.
As usual the kit is made of resin and metal PE parts. The quality of the casts is great, without any flaws. The model is nicely divided to make detailing work a lot easier. The only flaw of the kit in my opinion are the wheels. They are nicely detailed and cast but they look a bit small. The PE parts represent all the details needed to build an amazing model. There are also some decals to depict some carbon fibre details on the outside.
And just to make it a bit more interesting the Hobby Design 56 Nord roof top box will be added.
Special Addition: Geronimoworks Wheels
I have showed you my next project and hinted that there will be something special coming to the project. So here it is.
Since I have already chosen to add the roof top box to the car I have also decided to change the wheels. And what better way to do this than to contact Geronimoworks for some advice and help at choosing the right wheel size for the RS6.
Somewhere on the internet I have found a picture of a RS6 with the HRE S111 and since I liked the design a lot I opted for the same design from Geronimoworks.
To make sure the size will be perfect for the RS6, Geronimoworks suggested me to use 22" wheels with Dunlop tires. These are also my first multipiece wheels, so this means that barrels and centers are divided.
As it is usual with Geronimoworks the print quality is amazing, without any flaws and with amazing details. Also included are decals, two different sets of lug nut adapters and a set of valves.

Panel Engraving
Upon building the interior of the RS6 it is now time to build the exterior. This time I decided to make a change in the process compared to my usual resin preparation steps.
This time I have started with panel engraving, for which I used 0.1mm and 0.2mm panel knives from Dspiae.
Sanding
After this I didn't do the usual toothbrush cleaning but instead I have immediately proceeded with sanding the body.
For this I have used the 800 grit sanding sponge provided by Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
And here now comes the final trick, recently I have got an ultrasonic cleaner, so instead of hand washing the body with warm water and dishwashing soap, I have put the engraved and sanded body directly into the cleaner, poured some dishwashing soap in it and let it work its magic for about 15 minutes.
The result is a flawless silicon free body that will be painted in the next step.

Choosing the Interior Colour
Most of the RS6 cars that can be seen online have a plain black interior and that just wasn't too appealing to me. So after thinking what the colour should be I have received a little help from a friend that visited me with a real full speced RS6 Performance that had a nice light brown and black interior.
Painting the Interior Parts
To replicate this on my model I have used the AMMO by Mig Jimenez Figure paint F.531. This paint is great, but if you want to use it with an airbrush you have to thin it for about 50%. After preparing the paint I have painted all the interior parts that need to be light brown with the Gaahleri Airbrush GHAD-39.
After this some masking was done and the details were painted with AMMO by Mig Jimenez satin black paint provided by Back To Basics.
Interior Detailing
This time I will show you how the beautiful RS6 interior was detailed.
- Small strips were painted with Molotow Chrome marker, then the PE speaker grills were added to the door cards.
- Decals were added on the dashboard and on the seats.
- Flocking was done on the interior tub, where also the pedals were added.
- Seat belts were added to front and rear seats.
Interior Assembly
To start assembly of the interior, first the previously decaled and detailed dashboard was assembled. In order to do so the steering wheel and the shifter were attached and so the dashboard was prepared.
To prepare the other parts of the interior, all the seats got attached to the tub. Also parallel to this the door cards got prepared for final assembly.

AUDI RS6 Avant Build Guide — Part 4: Wheels and Brakes
Alpha Model AM02-0039 · Build by mG Car Scale Model Works
This will be the last post before final assembly and then showcase of the RS6 model.
Like promised last time today I will show you how the wheels and brakes were made for the Audi.
Painting the Wheels
To start everything all the parts were painted. For the Geronimoworks GW06SR, HRE S111 multi piece 22" inch wheel centers the AK-Interactive Extreme Metal Bronze paint was used and to ensure great contrast the Manga Garage SNP Color Black Chrome was used. This black chrome paint is really amazing — it is very simple to use and the effect at the end is very realistic.
The 22" Dunlop tires were painted with some Tamiya Rubber Black and for the rest some AMMO by Mig Jimenez Satin Black and Revell Fire Red paints were used.
To paint everything as described this time I have used the Gaahleri Airbrush GHAD-39 airbrush.

Priming
With the body previously prepared it is now time to start applying various layers of paint on it. To ensure a good adhesion and uniform base colour a Motip spray can grey primer supplied by Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1 was applied.
Base Colour — Audi Turbo Blue
After it dried and since there were no imperfections it was time to apply the paint. The colour I opted for this time is Audi Turbo Blue (colour code: AULV5C). The paint was prepared by paint specialist from Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1 and was applied on the body using the Gaahleri Airbrush GHAD-68 airbrush.
The airbrush is great for such use — it distributes the paint evenly and thanks to the handle it sits nice in the hand.
Carbon Fibre Decals
This time I will show you how the few CF decals got attached to the body and what new machine I have used to polish it to perfection.
First step was to flatten the clear coat to make sure the adhesion of the decals will be good. Then I applied the CF decals and where needed I have used the AMMO by Mig Jimenez Decal Fix and Decal Set solutions supplied by Back To Basics.
Note: Always use decal softener and setter solutions when applying decals over curved or complex surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and avoid silvering.
Just before clear coating it I have applied a light wash to enhance the panels, this time I have used an acrylic filter from AMMO and it came out great.
Clear Coat and Polishing
After the body was clear coated and dried it was time to polish the body. First three steps are hand polishing with polishing sponges 3000, 6000 and 8000 grit.
To give the body the perfect shine I have polished it with dual action polishing machine from SPTA and the polishing paste from 3M supplied by Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1.

This will be the last work in progress post for the AUDI RS6 model.
Since all the parts were already painted it was time only to assemble them into a stunning model.
Attaching Meshes and Interior
To start it off all the meshes were attached to the body and then it was time to attach all the interior bits.
First the door cards and the dashboard have to go in and then the tub with the centre console and the seats goes in.
Putting the Car on Its Wheels
After this it was time to put the car on its wheels for the first time and while the glue was setting the underbody was also put on the model.
Final Touches
To completely seal the model all the windows were installed and to add the final touches the wipers, lights, roof box, emblems and a 3D printed plate were added.
