Right after completing this 1:24 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Weissach, a heavy hardcover book fell directly on top of it. The impact bent the A-pillar into an S shape, cracked the roof’s clear coat and carbon-fiber decal, scratched the windshield, and knocked several pieces loose.
I removed the loose parts and slowly heated and straightened the A-pillar using a hair dryer, moving it around 1 mm at a time. I then used Tamiya putty and sanding to rebuild its shape, repaired the roof, sanded and polished the windshield, repainted the damaged area, and reassembled everything.
The restoration took around a month, but you would never know it happened by looking at the finished model!

One detail I forgot to mention: I test-fitted the windshield several times while reshaping the A-pillar. This helped me check the curve and alignment before refining the putty and repainting the area. Without the windshield as a guide, it would have been very easy to reshape the pillar incorrectly.
